Catch Price Mistakes Before Orders Arrive
Why WooCommerce stores need price anomaly checks before bulk edits, supplier imports, and sale campaigns turn a typo into a margin disaster.
A wrong price can spread faster than the team can react. Supplier imports, bulk edits, sale prices, decimal mistakes, and copied campaign rules can all create offers that only look obvious after customers start ordering.
Low price is not always a bargain strategy
Some prices are intentionally aggressive. Others are simply wrong. The store needs a way to tell the difference before checkout turns the mistake into fulfilled orders, support conversations, and customer frustration.
The useful first pass is not complicated: unusually low prices, sale prices that collapse too far below regular price, recently changed prices, and category-specific threshold violations.
Imports and bulk edits deserve a preflight check
Price mistakes often happen during legitimate work. A supplier file changes format, a decimal separator is interpreted differently, a sale import targets the wrong category, or a team member bulk-edits the wrong column.
A price preflight check should run immediately after imports and before major campaigns go live. For larger teams, it should also create a warning before risky changes are published.
Where Price Mistake Guard fits
Price Mistake Guard is planned as the pricing safety layer: manual anomaly scans, category thresholds, sale price checks, recently changed price lists, and admin alerts.
It sits next to Margin Leak Guard. One catches obvious price anomalies; the other checks whether the final price still protects margin once cost data is considered.
